Milwaukee man shot outside home during attempted robbery
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man was nearly killed sitting in front of his own home, and if you know anything about it, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers needs you to step up.
It was 11 in the morning on Oct. 9, when a man was sitting in his car on S. 12th Street and W. Arthur.
A man with a gun came up to the window and demanded money, but the victim couldn't understand him because he doesn't speak English.
Out of frustration, the suspect shot him, twice.
"When he couldn't comply because he didn't understand what was being asked, the suspect brazenly pulled out a gun and fired two rounds, striking him twice," said MPD Captain Craig Sarnow. "It's a case that's played out far too often in our city this year."

Man and his dog shot while sitting in car near 5th and Chambers
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Imagine sitting in the car in front of your house, and all of a sudden someone shoots you and your pets. It happened to a Milwaukee man this week, and now police need your help to find out who did it.
It was the middle of the day on Monday, Oct. 12, police say the 43-year-old was sitting in his car near 5th and Chambers. His two dogs were in the car with him.
Police say bullets pierced through his windows, hitting both the man and one of his dogs in the neck.
"The victim in this case doesn't appear to have been doing anything nefarious, and we don't believe he was the intended target. We've seen this again and again play out far too often in our city, particularly this year, in what has kind of been an unprecedented year of violence I think we can all agree," said Milwaukee Police Department Captain Craig Sarnow,
The victim is doing OK, but the dog is struggling to survive.

Women robbed at gunpoint near Brady and Astor
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two women walking out of a bar on a Saturday night held up at gunpoint need your help finding the man who threatened their lives.
The women say a man attacked them on Saturday, Aug. 29 as they were walking out of a bar on Brady Street and Astor.
It was around 12:20 in the morning.
They started walking to their cars as a man started chatting with them.
He followed them and as they tried to say goodbye, he forced his way into the car, held them up at gunpoint, took their purses and made them go to an ATM to withdraw more money.
He threatened to kill them if they didn't give him what he wanted.
"He produced a firearm, made demands of them, and as the event was wrapping up, indicated stealing their belongings and their cash that he knew where they lived, where their families lived," said MPD Sgt. Adam Grochowski. "By eliminating, so by providing a tip to Crime Stoppers, we believe that a critical tip about this suspect's identity will bring justice and possibly help keep other victims from being robbed as well."

Suspect shot 14-year-old in random act near 37th and Vliet
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two teenagers walking home from the park were shot by a total stranger and now Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is hoping your tip can help solve the crime.
It was around 10 p.m. on June 29, when Milwaukee police say a 14-year-old and his brother were headed to Washington Park in the 3700 block of West Vliet. The man in front of them accused them of following him.
Words were exchanged and then the man shot the 14-year-old in the shoulder.
Surveillance captured the suspect in a nearby convenient store, but other than that, police don't have any leads.
"We've had a number of cases and even some that we've profiled through Crime Stoppers that have juvenile victims," said Captain Craig Sarnow, Milwaukee Police Department. "The victim in this case says he didn't even know who this individual was."

Reward Increased to $100,000 for Info on Tay Jackson Homicide

Twenty-year-old Tay Jackson was killed near Milwaukee's Moody Park one year ago on Aug. 25.
Even at her young age, she had built a legacy as a worker for peace in her neighborhood.
On Tuesday, her relatives, friends and neighbors gathered at the park on what they're calling "Tay Day," to honor her memory and her giving spirit.
Tuesday's event also included an announcement that the reward for information leading to her killer was being raised from $25,000 to $100,000.
Another local activist, Vaun Mayes, paid tribute to Jackson's selflessness.
"We had an event that focused on artists. She never once said I'm an artist, I rap, I sing, I do this or that. So she never once put herself in position to highlight those things, she just wanted to help. And that says a lot."
There's a fundraiser to revitalize Moody Park in honor of Tay Jackson.

31-year-old man shot dead while driving near 32nd and Fairmount
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A shooting on Father's Day in Milwaukee that left a man dead is still unsolved. Now, his sister is asking you to come forward with information to help find her brother's killer.
It was around 2:30 a.m. June 21, when police say Dieria Walton Stokes was driving near 32nd and West Fairmount, and someone shot at his vehicle multiple times. Paramedics tried to save him but the 31-year-old died.
The only evidence was casings left behind. There were no witnesses or surveillance video.
The victim's sister, LaTonya Stokes, said he hated guns and had a dream of opening a group home to help the elderly.
"If anybody has any idea, any information to come forth to help us find out who killed my brother. It was my brother this time but it could be someone else’s cousin... it has to stop," Stokes said.

$20K reward offered for information in homicide of Riverwest activist
Now, people from all over the country are supporting him by donating anonymously to Milwaukee Crime Stoppers to help bring his killer to justice.
Now there is a near $20,000 reward for anyone who comes forward with information.
Milwaukee police say moments after the suspect was seen walking near Bremen and Wright, they shot Bernell Trammell and killed him.
"This was an execution, you walk up behind somebody, stand approximately six feet away, approaches him from the back, fires several rounds in his direction, killing him and then just walking away," said MPD Captain Craig Sarnow. "It's an execution style homicide."
Crews tried to save 60-year-old Tremmell, but he died on scene.
Surveillance captured images of the suspect riding away from the scene on a bike.
"It is a very distinct outfit, very distinct bicycle, the individual we believe is a male has a very distinct walk and is familiar with the area and the community," said Reggie Moore of the Office of Violence Prevention. "Somebody out there knows who he is. "i think it's important that justice is found in this case. Bernell was someone who was known in the community. Many people saw him around standing for different causes and regardless for the reason of this heinous crime, this was a public assassination in broad daylight."
The shooting happened right outside of Trmmell's business, where he made his religious and political beliefs clear, including his support for President Donald Trump.
While many fear this could be a motive, police still don't know for sure.
"Regardless of what he stood for, no individual in this community deserves to be harmed and killed in this way."
Many in the community have raised their concerns about this homicide.
Since July 23, when it happened, anonymous tips have flooded Milwaukee Crime Stoppers' phone line.
Now, investigators are hoping a nearly $20,000 reward will motivate the community even more to call 414-224-8477 or use the P3 Tips app.
"The Office of Violence Prevention is glad that Milwaukee Crime Stoppers exists and was started because it's critically important that people feel they can provide information safely," said Moore. "We know that healing in our city moves at the speed of justice and so to the degree that the individuals involved in this assassination can be brought to justice, the sooner that can happen, the better."

Milwaukee man shot multiple times while driving to work
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's supposed to be a day of celebration, but for one Milwaukee man, the Fourth of July turned dangerous after he was shot multiple times by a stranger.
Milwaukee police say a 59-year-old man was headed to work around 9:30 in the morning.
He was driving near the 2700 block of N. 27th St. when he almost rear ended another driver.
That driver then followed him for six blocks and fired five shots into the car.
The man who was shot is okay, but investigators need help finding out who was in the dark-colored minivan and opened fire.
"It was last seen going eastbound on Center Street from 27th, so someone out there may know something, may have heard something, may have heard any of these individuals talking about it," said MPD Captain Craig Sarnow.

Man shot, carjacked during Facebook Marketplace meet-up
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man was trying to sell a car online, but when he met the buyers they shot him. Now, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers needs your help bringing them to justice.
It was July 11 when the man arranged to meet three men who offered to by his minivan from Facebook Marketplace. He met around 4:30 p.m. near South Howell and Howard Avenues. That's when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot him in the stomach.
All three of them then stole his car and left. The 20-year-old victim is doing OK.
A surveillance picture captured the suspects in a stolen red minivan with front-end damage, two different rims and a hanging mirror.
"Facebook Marketplace is obviously a great place to buy and sell items, but I would encourage everybody that if you do decide to use that, to make sure you go to a public place, such as a police station, grocery store parking lot, maybe a shopping mall parking lot, and conduct your business there," said MPD Captain Craig Sarnow."

18-year-old shot dead in Washington Park
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An 18-year-old was found shot to death in Washington Park. There were no witnesses and no suspects. Milwaukee Crime Stoppers needs you to come forward with information.
It was March 17, around 8:30 p.m., when Milwaukee police got a ShotSpotter call for a shooting at Washington Park. They followed a blood trail that led them to the lagoon. Once there, they found 18-year-old Winfred Jackson dead in the water.
There was little physical evidence; only a few bullet casings were left behind.
Jackson's family says he loved basketball and planned to join the army. Now, they need your help to figure out who shot the young man multiple times to death.
"In a case like this, looking at it now several months later with no investigative leads, we are probably going to need that tip from Crime Stoppers to make this case, to get a break in the case so to speak. So that's why it's important for anyone that has information to let us know," said Captain Craig Sarnow, Milwaukee Police Department.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Winfred Jackson, an 18-year-old, was found dead in Washington Park five months ago. Now, the community has come together to make the reward for his killer(s) arrest even bigger by partnering with Milwaukee Crime Stoppers to offer $5,000 to the person who comes forward.
"We want to get this criminal off the streets. Because you know the way he did it, he shot him multiple times and threw him in the river. That’s like throwing a dog in the river," said Debra Jackson, victim's step mother.
Winfred Jackson's parents say before he was killed on March 17, he was planning to join the army, but that was cut short. They're hoping someone comes forward to help give them closure and the community peace of mind.
"What would it mean for someone to come forward and say what they know through Crime Stoppers? It would mean the world to me to put this thing to rest. It's been five months and it still seems like yesterday," said Winfred Samuels Sr., victim's father. "Somebody knows something and we would really appreciate help because this same person is out here and he could do this to somebody else's child."

FBI offers $5K reward to find suspect who fatally shot teen
Milwaukee police say on Tuesday, June 30, at approximately 10:30 p.m., 16-year-old Qunyonce Louis-Moore was walking with two friends in an alley when shots rang out.
The group started running but Louis-Moore's friends noticed she wasn't with them. They went back and found her lying on the ground and stayed with her until paramedics arrived.
Louis-Moore died, leaving behind a 1-year-old daughter.
"We would really like to find out who the suspect is in this case and bring them to justice... before they cause more pain, more trauma to our community and to another family,' said Captain Craig Sarnow, Milwaukee Police Department.

Suspect wanted after 2 found dead in running car
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The trail to find out who committed a double murder in a quiet Milwaukee neighborhood has gone cold, and if you know anything about it, Crime Stoppers needs your help.
It was almost midnight on Oct. 1 of 2019 -- that's when Milwaukee police got a call from a concerned neighbor in the 4100 block of N. 70th Street.
A car was in the middle of the street, running, with the doors open.
Investigators arrived and found two men dead inside, 27-year-old Kentrell Toliver and 44-year-old Layton Lewis.
Both had been shot multiple times.
It looks like a drug deal gone wrong, but investigators say no matter what the circumstances, justice needs to be served.
"This is the Capitol Heights neighborhood in Milwaukee, we don't get a lot of calls for service, let alone anything," said Milwaukee Police Captain Craig Sarnow. "There were people at home, but nobody saw anything."

Suspect Deniko Banks on the run after shooting near 3rd and Maple
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A fight broke out at a time when people living in Milwaukee are supposed to be staying at home, and the young man who tried to stop the brawl ended up getting shot.
It was around 9 a.m. on April 9, when Milwaukee police found a 19-year-old who had been shot near South 3rd and Maple.
Witnesses said the victims tried to break up a fight between Deniko Banks and several roommates. That's when Banks shot him in the leg.
Banks is on the run and Milwaukee police say he has a violent criminal history.
The victim will be OK.
"Here he was trying to do the right thing and deescalate the situation before it became violent. In the end it did become violent and unfortunately for him he got shot," said Capt. Craig Sarnow, Milwaukee Police Department.

73-year-old woman sexually assaulted on walk in Milwaukee park
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A horrible act of violence on a Tuesday morning at a Milwaukee park. Someone physically and sexually assaulted a 73-year-old woman.
It happened on May 5, at Kern Park on Humboldt Boulevard. The woman told police she was just taking a morning walk around 9 a.m., when a man suddenly came out of nowhere, pushed her down, sexually assaulted her and then ran off with her purse.
Police believe others may have seen what happened that day, and are urging them to come forward.
"We believe that there were other people out there that may have saw something either that day or even the days before or after this happened. If you have a Ring doorbell or surveillance on your house that's kind of near where this happened and the police have not already contacted you, please let us know," said MPD Captain Craig Sarnow.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee child was shot by a stranger while playing outside. Now, investigators say they need your help to find the suspect.
The shooting happened near 23rd and Locust on April 3. A 7-year-old boy playing in a lot heard a group of people arguing. He went to check it out and saw a man hiding behind a garbage can. When the man saw the little boy, authorities said he pointed his gun and shot the child in the leg. Then, the suspect ran off.
Police have no witnesses or evidence. The little boy will be OK, but it could have been worse.
"Here it is a kid outside playing he was actually hitting golf balls in the vacant field over there. He has nothing to do with whatever is going on and gets shot," said Captain Craig Sarnow, with the Milwaukee Police Department. "We don’t know why, he did give a description and said after he was shot the guy more or less said 'oh my God,' to the point where it sounds like he didn't mean to shoot him but he did, he shot him and then ran off."

Suspect wanted in deadly shooting near 45th and Center

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The family of a Milwaukee man who was shot and killed by a stranger while driving down the street still hasn't gotten justice.
Police say 51-year-old Terry Wilkins was driving west on Center Street around 9 a.m. on September 29, 2019.
When he got to the corner at 45th, another driver turned, shot him, then drove away.
A good Samaritan stopped to help, but Wilkins died on the scene.
All investigators have is a photo of the suspect's vehicle -- a black 2016-2018 four-door Nissan Altima with a broken fog lamp on the driver's side.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 is a proud partner of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, and each Thursday during our newscasts we'll feature the crime of the week.
This week, police are asking for help finding the person who shot and killed a 51-year-old man while he was driving his car on Sept. 29.
Milwaukee police say the victim was driving westbound in the 4500 block of W. Center Street when someone shot him.
A good Samaritan stopped to help. Milwaukee firefighters and EMS crews tried to save him, but he died at the scene.
"Investigators arrive on scene, check for video, and during the course of this is when they discovered this valuable piece of video which shows what we think is the suspect vehicle," Capt. Craig Sarnow said. "Can't focus in on the license plate or get an accurate picture of who this may be, and that's why we need the public's help."
Investigators believe the suspect was driving a 2016-2018 black, four-door Nissan Altima with a burnt out fog lamp on the driver's side.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Imagine being shot while sitting in your car, for no reason at all.
That's what happened to a Milwaukee man last month. Now, police need your help to find out who did it.
It was around noon on Monday, March 23.
A man says he was driving south on West Appleton Avenue.
He was sitting at the light on Capitol and Appleton when he says a silver SUV pulled up beside him.
The driver turned and fired three times into the man's car and drove off.
Milwaukee police say the only witness they know of was a woman sitting in the shooter's passenger seat.
"He was shot in the lower back as a result of this, and he wasn't able to provide us any reason as to why this might have happened," said Milwaukee Police Captain Craig Sarnow. "He doesn't believe it's road rage, he didn't do anything, he has no idea who this guy is. He did say there was a female passenger in that car who said, 'don't shoot that guy.'"

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A beautiful summer day turned deadly after a man was killed while behind the wheel and spent his last moments crashing into a fence. Milwaukee police know exactly who the suspect is and need your help to find him.
Police believe 45-year-old Mario A. Balli shot and killed a person on July 16, 2019. It was early evening in the area of 33rd and Mitchell, when someone called police to report a crash.
When police arrived, they found the 34-year-old driver dead. He'd been shot and crashed into a fence.
After following leads, police found out who they think pulled the trigger in broad daylight.
"This happened at in the afternoon right in the area of burham park, if you are familiar there are baseball fields, schools…indicates it was busy there were people around when this incident happened. So..kind of disturbing when you think about that," said Captain Craig Sarnow, Milwaukee Police Department.

Suspect wanted for shooting man outside Buckshots bar
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man who police say has been committing crimes since he was 11 years old is on the run, believed to be armed and dangerous, and they need help to catch him.
Officers say Joseph Pimentel shot another man in the leg after a fight at a local bar.
The argument happened a little after 2 a.m. at Buckshots Bar near Euclid and S 13th.
Police say the fight happened the night of October 13, 2019. It spilled outside, and that's where the shooting occurred.
Surveillance photos show Pimentel at the bar.
He's wanted for recklessly endangering safety.
"If you happen to know what his whereabouts are, call Crime Stoppers. Don't try to arrest this person or go after him yourself," said MPD Captain Craig Sarnow.
